MUSKMELON JUICE
Muskmelons, also known as cantaloupes are the sweet and juicy fruits, that are most commonly available during the month of may and june, in India. They have a light orange flesh, and tastes really sweet when its completely ripe. These fruits have a cooling property, and has a high water content.
Muskmelons are usually consumed fresh, either whole or in slices. It is also used in salads, fruit custard, juices, smoothies, milkshake and ice cream. Juice made from muskmelon is very popular, especially during summers. Since it has high water content, it helps from dehydration.
ABOUT THE RECIPE:
Muskmelon juice is really simple and easy to make. It can be made in just 2 minutes. It can be served fresh or, it can be made and stored in the fridge for upto 2 to 3 days. It will be so filling, that I mostly have just a glass of muskmelon juice for breakfast.
INGREDIENTS FOR MUSK MELON JUICE:
- MUSKMELON (RIPENED) – 1 NO
- SUGAR – 1 TBSP

HOW TO MAKE MUSKMELON JUICE:
- Cut open the muskmelon. It has some juice along with seeds inside it. The seeds can be discarded. Keep the juice aside. It can be used later.

- Peel the skin and cut the muskmelon into small bite sized pieces.

- Reserve few small pieces of the fruit along with the juice, that was inside the fruit. It can be used later.

- Add the remaining muskmelon pieces, except for the small pieces reserved, to a blender.

- Add 1 tbsp of sugar to it.

- Blend it. It will have a thick paste like consistency.

* Few ice cubes can be added to the blender, along with the fruit and sugar.
YUMMY AND DELICIOUS MUSKMELON JUICE IS READY.

POUR THE JUICE INTO A SERVING GLASS AND, ADD THE RESERVED JUICE AND FRUIT PIECES ON TOP OF THE JUICE. THE JUICE ALONG WITH THE FRUIT PIECES TASTES REALLY GOOD. THIS IS HOW I USUALLY HAVE MY MUSKMELON JUICE.

VARIATIONS:
- Adding sugar is optional. The fruit has a natural sweetness to it, which is more than sufficient for the juice.
- Brown sugar, honey or any other kind of sweetner can also be added, instead of plain white sugar.
PRO TIP:
- Fully ripened fruit tastes much better.
- The juice tastes really good when it is served cold. Either add few ice cubes to it or, keep the juice in the refrigerator for some time before serving.
