VANILLA MUG CAKE
Vanilla mug cake is a soft, spongy and delicious 1 minute recipe, perfect for a single serving. It is usually made in a microwave and, the whole process takes less than 5 minutes.
Vanilla mug cake can be made with really simple ingredients, that are readily available at home. It is made with flour, sugar, butter, milk, baking powder and vanilla essence. Since, it is made in microwave for just 1 minute, eggs are not added to it.
ABOUT THE RECIPE:
I make this recipe quite often, especially for my early evening or, midnight cravings. It is single serving. I usually use, just a coffee mug and a whisk/fork to prep and bake. It can also be prepared in a separate mixing bowl and, poured to the mug.
*MAKE SURE TO USE A MICROWAVE SAFE MUG. ALSO, THIS RECIPE CAN BE MADE IN A 200ML COFFEE MUG. I’VE USED 300ML COFFEE MUG.
INGREDIENTS FOR VANILLA MUG CAKE:
- BUTTER – 1 TBSP
- GRANULATED WHITE SUGAR – 1.5 TBSP
- MILK – 2 TBSP
- VANILLA ESSENCE – 1/4 TSP
- MAIDA – 3 TBSP
- BAKING POWDER – 1/4 TSP
- SPRINKLES/CHOCOLATE CHIP/TUTTI FRUTTI – AS REQUIRED

HOW TO MAKE VANILLA MUG CAKE:
- In a microwave safe mug, add 1 tbsp of butter and 1.5 tbsp of granulated sugar. Whisk it well until, the sugar dissolves.

- Then add 2 tbsp of milk and 1/4 tsp of vanilla essence and whisk it well until, everything is well combined.

- Once it is well combined add, 3 tbsp of maida, and mix it until everything is well combined.


- Add few chocolate chips/sprinkles/tutti frutti to it.

- Mix them to the batter. Add few sprinkles/chocolate chip/ tutti frutti on top(optional) as well. Toppings can also be added after baking.

- Place the mug in the microwave, and microwave it for 1 minute.
AFTER 1 MINUTE SOFT, SPONGY AND DELICIOUS VANILLA MUG CAKE IS READY.

IT CAN BE CONSUMED IMMEDIATELY. IT TASTES GOOD WHILE IT’S STILL HOT.

VARIATIONS:
- Tutti frutti, chocolate chip or any kind of sprinkles can be used.
- White sugar can also be replaced with brown sugar.
NOTE:
The cooking time might vary depending on the microwave. It took exactly 1 minute to cook, in my microwave. The cake forms a crack, and separates from the mug. This is the perfect consistency. If not, place the mug in the microwave for another 10-20 seconds. Do not place it for more than 30 seconds.
